Foster parents make a differenceMany of us have considered exploring what it takes to become a foster parent, but the thought was quickly replaced by another task or demand in our busy lives. Perhaps, you did not know where to find information on fostering or how to begin the process, or you thought, "I don't have what it takes to become a foster parent." But the truth is, foster parents come from all age ranges, walks of life, and lifestyles. In reality, foster parents are probably very much like you.
Fostering can be challenging and unpredictable, but also one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. It requires love, patience and strong parenting skills. Some children adapt well and easily, for others it takes more time and patience.
What are the rewards? Foster parents say it is often the little things — a smile, a few words, watching children learn how to trust, or simply seeing joy in their eyes.
